Baby / Toddler Reflex

Workshops for parents

Baby reflex is specially adapted reflexology for babies.  The techniques were originally developed for bonding and over the years have helped ease, relieve and eliminate many baby discomforts proving to be very popular and successful with parents. Baby reflex is a gentle and effective method of reflexology that parents can give to their own babies to help to calm the baby and improve their sleep patterns.

All parents must first learn baby reflex from a qualified Reflexologist. They can be individually taught or better still be part of a small group of mothers learning baby reflex together with their own babies.  Courses are structured in easily practised sessions that are quickly grasped, with the emphasis being on the practical application of these techniques.

The course consists of 3 x hour long themed workshops, usually occurring one week apart to give parents time to practise the techniques.  Week one is on feeding & digestion;  week two sleeping & comforting and week three on general well being.  It has been proven that to teach parents the techniques in bite sized chunks enables the information to be absorbed more easily.

baby reflex is not a training course for parents to apply treatment to any other baby or toddler, it is for use exclusively with only their own children.

Some benefits include:

Increases baby’s sense of belonging & contentment.  Physical contact within 1st year of life can help improve baby’s brain connections and development

Aids sleep, leaving mum and baby more rested, less fatigued and generally happier.

It can provide pain relief for many symptoms such as colic, earache, teething, sinus problems and also aids digestions.

Mums love baby reflex as it gives them an instant tool to help comfort & ease many probems. Courses with other mums improve your social network & confidence, and may reduce risk of postnatal depression.

Baby reflex is portable.  Parents can use the techniques learned anytime, anyplace, anywhere, as you only need access to the feet.

Toddler Reflex was a natural progession from baby reflex which was developed by Penny Odhams MAR due to popular demand.

Babies become Toddlers when they find their feet and explore the world and with this in mind working on the Toddler’s hands is natural and effective. The workshops teach parents a simple reflexology routine on the hands which is accompanied by nursery rhymes and lullabies. This routine takes a few minutes to apply, is very appealing to Parents and Toddlers alike and is great fun to share.

Baby Reflex 4 Toddlers aims to:

  • Encourage and develop the bonding between Parent and Toddler.
  • Be relaxing, therefore promoting sleep, great before bed!
  • Be calming, especially for those toddler tantrums!
  • Support the body’s defences for those toddler infections.
  • Support and encourage the digestion. Toddlers feel better when regular!
  • Help with pain relief, e.g. when teething, when bumped or bruised.
  • Support the developing body.

The Baby Reflex 4 Toddlers Course consists of three, one hour sessions covering topics such as feeding and digestion, sleeping and comforting and general wellbeing and emergency reflexology first aid.  Again, techniques are taught in bite sized chunks to enable parents to learn and practice the treatments at an easy pace.
